Once upon a time in
Beirut
The story of Brizelés began during the summer of 2010, when Kamel Cabbabé, a die-hard food lover and gourmet, has the idea to use his “bricelet” machine, bought during a trip in Switzerland, to craft incredibly thin crackers infused with the authentic flavors of his homeland of Lebanon: thyme, cheese, olives, tomatoes and more. Delighted by the outcome, he shared theses treats with his friends who were instantly captivated by their irresistible taste and urged him to introduce it to the market.
2010
Creation of the “Brizelés” brand. The crispy crackers are handcrafted in the family kitchen and sold to individuals through word-of-mouth.
2011
To promote their product, Kamel and his wife Mona rent a stall every Saturday at the organic market in Beirut (Souk el Tayeb). The growing consumer interest in Brizelés prompts Kamel to present his goods to major retail outlets throughout Lebanon.
2013
Seeing the potential for growth, Kamel and Mona decide to take their business to the next level by renting and equipping a dedicated workshop. While the production process remains artisanal, they now have the capacity to meet the increasing demand with the help of skilled workers.
2016
Word of Brizeles’ deliciousness spread far and wide, reaching beyond the borders of Lebanon. Travelers passing through start grabbing boxes to take with them in their luggage, and retailers across the world start placing orders.
